What this figure is, exactly

It is dividends declared per share: what the board declared for the fiscal year, as Apple itself tags it in the XBRL data filed with each annual report. Declared and paid can differ in a given year when a quarterly dividend declared in December is paid in January: the declared figure counts it in the year of the declaration. The company tags only this concept in its filings.

Each fiscal year is named by the date it ended, because Apple's fiscal year does not coincide with the calendar year. For each year the figure comes from the 10-K for that year itself, the report that was audited for it; later 10-Ks repeat it as a comparative, and that repetition is used only to detect stock splits. Where a later 10-K tags a year differently without a split, the row says so.

Apple restated earlier years in a later 10-K at a whole-number ratio, which is how a stock split shows up in the filings: a 7-for-1 split reflected in the 10-K filed 27 October 2014; a 4-for-1 split reflected in the 10-K filed 30 October 2020. Figures from before the split are shown as filed, with the equivalent per share today beside them, and the year-on-year change is computed on the equivalent.

Where each figure comes from

From the CommonStockDividendsPerShareDeclared concept in the XBRL financial data Apple files with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission alongside its Form 10-K (SEC registrant CIK 320193). The "Filed in" column opens the filing index of that 10-K at sec.gov, where the full report and its XBRL instance are public. The data was read from the SEC on 15 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Apple pay in dividends per share?
Apple declared $1.02 per share for the fiscal year ended 27 September 2025, as reported in its annual report filed with the SEC on 31 October 2025. The figure is the company's own XBRL tag for dividends declared per share; it is not an estimate.
Is this the dividend I will receive?
No. This is the dividends declared per share for a whole fiscal year, as the company reports it in its 10-K. What you receive depends on the shares you hold on each record date and on the quarterly payments the board declares after this report. For the next payment date, the source is the company's own dividend announcement, not its annual report.
Why does the fiscal year end in September 2025?
Because that is Apple's fiscal year-end. Many US companies do not close their books on 31 December, and the dividend figure in a 10-K covers the company's fiscal year, not the calendar year. Each row here names the exact date the fiscal year ended.
Where does each figure come from and can I check it?
From the XBRL data the company files with the SEC alongside its 10-K, under the concept CommonStockDividendsPerShareDeclared. Each row links the filing index of that 10-K at sec.gov, where the full report and its XBRL instance are public. For each fiscal year the figure is the one in the 10-K for that year itself; later filings are used only to detect stock splits, and if one tags the year differently the row says so.
