Import your Vanguard portfolio
Vanguard has no open connection for apps like Celsmar, so your portfolio comes in through its statement: you download it, drop it into the portfolio and Celsmar recognises it, nets buys and sells into each holding at average cost and shows you the result before importing.

How to import your Vanguard portfolio, step by step
- Download the Vanguard statementHoldings → Download (CSV).
- Upload it to your portfolioIn Celsmar, open Portfolio, click Import and pick Vanguard under «Which bank or broker is it from?». Drop the file (or a screenshot) and Celsmar reads it in your browser: the file never leaves your computer.
- Review and importYou see every holding with its shares, average price, fees and date before importing it. Fix whatever you need and untick what you do not want. When you trade again, repeat the import with a new statement.
What Celsmar reads from the Vanguard statement
The buys and sells of each security, netted into your open position at average cost, with their fees and the date of the first buy. Dividends, interest and cash movements are set aside. If a sell has no matching buy in the file, we tell you instead of subtracting it from another.

Can Vanguard be connected so it updates on its own?
Not yet: Vanguard offers no connection Celsmar can use. That is why it is imported from the statement, which you repeat whenever you want to bring the portfolio up to date.
